St. Albert January Real Estate Market Update

Welcome to 2023! Many people are sure glad that 2022 is behind us. It was a year of turmoil and change and uncertainty. The interest rate increases, crazy inflation, and uncertain economy wreaked havoc on the real estate market. 

January is a different beast. 

Housing inventories are extremely low, resulting in low sales figures for the month. We need more listings on the market to balance the demand of buyers. Currently there are 212 real estate listings in St. Albert. A balanced market would see closer to 350 active real estate listings in St. Albert. 

With the Bank of Canada stating a freeze on interest rates, low housing inventory in St. Albert, strong oil prices, and expected large migration into Alberta... 2023 is looking up for St. Albert real estate!
