In an effort to "level the playing field" between tenants and landlords, a Edmonton city councillor is proposing a business license and database of landlords operating in Edmonton.
The idea is that tenants could use this database to check on the performance and reliability of prospective landlords, much as a landlord does by checking a prospective tenants credit rating and employment.
Do you think this is a good idea? Would it be helpful for tenants, or is this just another tax-grab from the city? Comment below!
